Complaint Letter about Food Hygiene

Not all your visits to your favorite restaurants will establish your experience as delightful ending up in contentment with the quality of food and services. On a lot of occasions, you will be dissatisfied and regret your decision because of several reasons namely poor food hygiene, uncleanliness, or lack of professional services. You will become distasteful as your time and money are wasted.

Any irresponsible attitude in terms of unhygienic scenarios within the premises of any restaurant or other food places should not go unnoticed. Henceforth, one should not let such terrible incidents go ignored as other consumers will face the same unpleasantness with a high potential to make one fall sick. Nonetheless, your approach should be to solve the problem, not just create an unnecessarily inflated hype or an undoable mess.

As you are expecting the restaurant management to show professionalism on their part, you should also adhere to the decorum while registering your complaint. To sound civil and genteel, opt for a complaint letter instead of verbal communication.

In the pursuit of writing a report, don’t forget to stay precise and avoid a whining tone. Simply sticking to your subject, how the entire experience gave you any disadvantage, should be quite enough.

The focus points of your template should be somewhat like following:

  • Start with the date, name of the place and your visit to it
  • Specify your order and your expectations as per the restaurant’s menu
  • How did you end up lodging a report against it
  • The concerned manager’s reaction to it
  • Request concerned authorities to investigate the matter and take necessary actions

Dear Sir/Ma’am, [the concerned authority]

I am writing this letter with sheer disappointment owing to the experience I and my friends underwent at XYZ [restaurant’s name] and I would like to bring it to your notice. I am a regular customer of XYZ [restaurant’s name] located at [restaurant’s address] as I visit it almost every weekend celebrating the happy hours with my friends. We always pick one particular meal to order but this time we decided to go for its much-hyped midnight dinner deal.

Quite contrary to our expectations, we underwent a very bad experience as the quality of food was very poor. The chicken was overcooked, and it also smelled really bad like it was rotten. The egg fried rice also smelled stinky as they seemed expired. On our complaint, the manager [name the manager on duty] did not admit his mistake rather started arguing with us. However, he offered us to switch the order with anything else on the menu.

We decided not to order anything from there and to our surprise, the staff handed us a bill. We had to pay the bill for the disgusting food we did not even eat.

I request you to investigate the whole matter and scrutinize the hygiene and quality standards of the restaurant so no further displeasure takes place.

Sincerely,

XYZ
