Cost to Company (CTC) is an estimate of the total cost an employer incurs for employing a person over a given period. In addition to basic salary, it may include allowances, bonuses, employer-paid benefits, retirement or pension contributions, payroll-related employer contributions, equipment, and other employment costs.
Use the calculator below to estimate both recurring annual CTC and first-year employer cost from the amounts you enter. The calculation is intended for compensation planning, HR budgeting, and cost comparison. CTC is an employer-cost measure and should not be confused with an employee’s take-home salary.

Employee Cost to Company (CTC) Calculator FAQs
What is Cost to Company (CTC)?
Cost to Company is an estimate of the total amount an employer spends on an employee. Depending on the organization, it can include salary, allowances, bonuses, benefits, employer contributions, equipment, and other employment-related costs.
What does this CTC calculator include?
The calculator can include basic salary, housing and transport allowances, other monthly allowances, annual bonus, insurance, training, retirement or pension contributions, employer payroll or social contributions, recruitment, equipment, and other annual employment costs.
How is annual gross pay calculated?
The tool adds the monthly basic salary and entered monthly allowances, then multiplies the monthly gross amount by 12.
Can I calculate employer retirement or pension contributions as a percentage?
Yes. You can calculate the retirement or pension contribution as a percentage of annual basic salary or enter a fixed annual amount.
Can recruitment and onboarding costs be excluded from recurring CTC?
Yes. Recruitment and onboarding costs are treated separately as one-time first-year costs so that you can distinguish them from recurring annual CTC. Equipment and technology costs can also be classified according to whether they are expected to be one-time or recurring.
What is Average Monthly CTC?
Average Monthly Recurring CTC is the calculated recurring annual CTC divided by 12. It can help with monthly employer-cost budgeting, but it does not represent the employee’s monthly take-home salary.
What does CTC Above Annual Basic mean?
It shows how much the estimated total annual employer cost exceeds the employee's annual basic salary after the entered allowances, benefits, contributions, and other included costs are considered.
Can I use different currencies?
Yes. The tool includes USD, PKR, GBP, EUR, AED, SAR, INR, CAD, and AUD.
Can I print the CTC summary or save it as PDF?
Yes. Use the Print button in Live Preview. Your browser's print dialog can also be used to save the formatted A4 summary as a PDF.
Does this calculator determine statutory payroll obligations?
No. Statutory taxes, social contributions, pension rules, and benefit treatment vary by jurisdiction and employer policy. Enter the applicable employer-paid amounts and verify them with the relevant HR, payroll, finance, or tax requirements.
Understanding Your CTC Calculation
Recurring Annual CTC represents the estimated employment costs expected to continue annually based on the values entered, such as salary, allowances, benefits, employer contributions, and recurring employment expenses.
First-Year Employer Cost also includes one-time costs entered for the employee, such as recruitment, onboarding, or equipment treated as a first-year expense. Separating these costs can provide a clearer view of the ongoing cost of employing someone compared with the initial cost of hiring and setting them up for work.
The calculator can also estimate employer retirement or pension contributions and payroll or social contributions using the method selected in the form. These amounts should be entered according to the employer’s applicable policies and requirements.
Important Calculation Note
CTC practices are not standardized worldwide. The components included in CTC, statutory employer contributions, payroll taxes, pension treatment, benefits, and other employment costs can differ by country, organization, employment contract, and company policy.
Review the entered figures before relying on the result for compensation planning, payroll budgeting, or financial decisions. The calculator estimates costs from the information provided; it does not determine statutory payroll or tax obligations.
This complements the existing FAQ rather than duplicating it. The current FAQ already explains annual gross pay, retirement contributions, currencies, printing, and statutory limitations.
